3F UL Gear Lanshan 2 – 4 Season Tent Review
Ultralight Shelter, Heavyweight Value

I picked up the Lanshan 2 4-Season version as a budget-friendly way to dip into the world of ultralight trekking pole tents without sacrificing weather protection. After multiple nights out in the Peaks, Snowdonia, and a particularly soggy weekend in the Lakes, I can say this tent punches well above its price tag.
Build & Materials
The tent uses 15D silicon-coated nylon for the fly and 20D for the floor, with a hydrostatic head of 5000mm and 8000mm respectively — more than enough for UK downpours. The double-wall design (inner + fly) is what sets it apart from the Pro version, offering better condensation control and warmth retention in colder months.
It’s a trekking pole tent, so you’ll need two poles (set to ~120cm) to pitch it. Once you get the hang of it, setup takes under 5 minutes — even in wind, though you’ll want to upgrade the pegs.
Livability & Space
- Dimensions: 220cm (L) x 110cm (W) x 125cm (H)
- Weight: ~1150g (excluding poles)
- Vestibules: Two, with decent space for boots and a pack
- Interior: Enough room for two regular-width mats, though it’s snug. Solo? It’s a palace.
The solid inner walls help block wind and spindrift, making it genuinely usable in shoulder-season snow or frosty bivvies. Ventilation is decent thanks to dual apex vents and the ability to tweak fly height with pole length.
Weather Performance
I’ve had it out in 40mph gusts and relentless rain, and it held firm with no leaks or flapping. The guy-out points are well-placed, and the fly tension stays solid overnight. Condensation is manageable — better than most single-wall ultralights I’ve used.
Packability & Use
It stuffs down to about 30 x 12cm, and I’ve carried it in a side pocket of my pack. The included stuff sack is basic but functional. It’s ideal for bikepacking, thru-hiking, or minimalist wild camping, especially if you’re trekking pole-inclined.
Pros
- Outstanding value for a 4-season-capable ultralight tent
- Double-wall design improves livability and warmth
- Lightweight and compact
- Solid weather resistance for UK conditions
- Two doors and vestibules = no awkward crawling over your mate
Cons
- Pegs are flimsy — upgrade them
- Needs seam sealing (not done at factory)
- Tight for two people with winter gear
- No footprint included (optional extra)
Final Verdict The Lanshan 2 4-Season is a brilliant entry point into ultralight camping with real-world weather chops. It’s not a mountaineering tent, but for UK wild camping, long-distance trails, and shoulder-season adventures, it’s hard to beat — especially at this price.
